Attraxan & Nutrition

People are getting increasingly conscious about their diet and life style. Most people are aware that a balanced diet along with physical exercise are important for the general well being, and to reduce the risk of developing life style related diseases.

The main challenges for improving today’s dietary balance are:

Fat intake:
The recommended level of fat intake is <30% of total energy intake. Although there has been a generally positive development with a reduction of fat intake during the last 20 years, the consumption has now leveled out without further reduction. Too high fat consumption remains an important factor for overweight and obesity, being some of the biggest health problems in the world today.

Dietary fiber intake:
Dietary fibers have various health benefits, and are associated with the prevention of several life style related diseases. The main source of dietary fiber in the diet today comes from cereal products such as dark breads, as well as from fruits and vegetables. The current level of dietary fiber intake is about 50% of the recommended daily intake of 25-30g/day.

It can of course be quite demanding to always maintain an adequately balanced diet. The most important thing is to be conscious of what we eat, and to have healthy routines with respect to diet and physical exercise.
